It has no architectural pretense and was built with the materials of the period: stones, hand-made bricks, timber beamed ceilings, and terracotta floors which all add to its charm. As was customary, the ground floor of the villa was used to house animals and the farmworkers slept upstairs.

The lush landscape of trees, bushes, and vines is typical of the Tuscan Lucchesian area. The beautiful swimming pool has amazing panoramic views of the green countryside with the Apennines Mountains in the distance.

Interior Description

This Farmhouse – Il Mulino is in the heart of Tuscany near the medieval town of Lucca with the beautiful seaside not far away.

On the ground floor, the old stable is now the dining room where one can admire the vaulted ceiling, the stonework, and other traditional workmanship. The entry hall’s large window looks on to the garden. The study and powder room continues in the same rustic but elegant style.

On the upper floor of the villa, we have five double bedrooms, each with private bathrooms. Three rooms face north with views of the panoramic valley and hills and two look southwards over the beautiful garden and brook. Of the five bedrooms, one is a large master suite with a sitting room.

The furnishings have been carefully selected during the restoration to provide the utmost in comfort. utmost in comfort and luxury. The villa is filled with period furniture and splendid decorative objects. Nothing has been left to chance. The luxurious bathrooms are fitted with bathtubs and showers.

The spacious garden is filled with potted lemons, olive trees, pines, camellias, wisteria, roses, lavender, rosemary, and fruit trees, all forming a splendid backdrop to the swimming pool. One can relax by the pool or under the gazebo or natural wisteria pergola or can dine al fresco.

The annex is available on request and has one double bedroom, one bedroom with a french bed and a bathroom.
